My Story

My father was a New York journalist, copywriter and advertising man. He taught me to test the rhythm of words and never settle for the obvious one. My mother, a Londoner, was independent and adventurous. She travelled across Europe in the 1960s, eventually settling in Spain. Between them, they gave me a fascination with people, places and the stories that connect them.

That curiosity led me from the art world in Paris, drawn by its beauty and sense of permanence, to New York — loud, ambitious and brimming with possibility. The tension between those two worlds has shaped everything.

An early career in luxury PR in London gave me an understanding of what makes brands truly desirable. At Diageo, across 14 years building its global luxury portfolio, I learned that the story is more than a communications tool. It is a commercial asset. Without one, we simply had a bottle and a liquid. With one, we could transform provenance into possibility.

Today, that conviction extends beyond brands — to heritage institutions, to the emerging worlds of wellness and longevity; and to founders whose story is not just where they have come from, but where they are going.

“I am, at heart, a brand author.”
